Morwenna Slade

Morwenna is our Climate Change Director, leading a team focusing on climate resilience, adaptation and mitigation.

Morwenna is a Conservation Accredited Chartered Building Surveyor specialising in heritage and building conservation, particularly in relation to climate change, adaptation, and energy efficiency. She is a full member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation and sits on their technical panel.  

Before moving to Ingleton Wood Morwenna was Head of Climate Change Adaptation for Historic England, where she established and led the first national technical advisory team for this subject. She has expertise in policy and the technical agenda for energy efficiency and climate change; advising, briefing and providing research for Government departments and technical teams.  As a steering group member for Government funded research projects, Morwenna has provided technical support and training to Government estates teams including the Cabinet Office sustainability team. Her role included commissioning and publishing research and writing technical guidance for a variety of technical and non-specialist audiences.  

Morwenna has wide ranging experience within the heritage sector having worked for the National Trust, The Churches Conservation Trust and Historic England. Her experience includes managing specialist conservation projects on unique sites, including scheduled monuments, mansion houses and churches. She also has experience of undertaking emergency works in listed buildings following lead theft and storm damage.
