Going for gold! Ingleton Wood supports Cambridge Acorn Project at Cambridge Half Marathon 2024 Wednesday, 28th February 2024

Members of property and construction consultancy Ingleton Wood are raising funds for Cambridge Acorn Project by taking on the Cambridge Half Marathon on Sunday 3rd March 2024.

A team of 13 staff members from the Practice are currently training to take on the challenge and raise crucial funds for the charity. Cambridge Acorn Project is a local front-line charity providing life-changing support to children, young people and families who have experienced trauma and abuse and who are facing financial hardship across Cambridgeshire.

The funds raised allow the Cambridge-based charity to provide essential services and support to families and children across the region. Since 2014 the charity has provided long-term therapeutic interventions to over 850 children and their families and delivered preventative mental health projects at schools in Cambridgeshire reaching over 1,500 children and young people.

Hannah Golding, Therapeutic Practitioner & Fundraiser at Cambridge Acorn Project, said: “Our work is about breaking cycles of trauma and poverty, tackling the inequality that stems from adverse childhood experiences, and helping children and families to emotionally recover. Thank you so much Ingleton Wood for supporting us in the Cambridge Half Marathon.”

Ingleton Wood’s team consists of 13 staff members from across the Practice, with representatives from their offices in Norwich, Colchester, Billericay, and Cambridge participating in the race. This year will be the fifth consecutive year a team from Ingleton Wood has taken part in the Cambridge Half Marathon, supporting various charities since 2019.

Holly Sutherland, Social Value Coordinator at Ingleton Wood, said: “Cambridge Acorn Project work reflects our own company values, and we are proud to support a charity that is making tangible differences in local families lives through their bespoke therapeutic support.”

The Cambridge Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 3rd March, starting at Midsummer Common. The route takes over 12,000 athletes on a tour of the key landmarks across the city including the grounds of four University of Cambridge Colleges; Kings, Jesus, St John’s and Trinity, as well as a stretch through the town centre where runners will be cheered towards the finish line.
